Material Handler I

The Material Handler reports directly to the Operations Manager and performs specific field duties and assists with operations in the Monomer and Oligomer plants. Activities may include:

  1. Properly label containers, then package finished monomer and oligomer product in either drums or totes.

  2. Charge raw materials to reactions for monomer and/or oligomer as directed by Shift Lead.

  3. Assist in other operations in the plant as directed.

  4. In the event of a plant emergency, participate in the emergency response as directed, and be a member of the ERT.

  5. When necessary, assist with training of new drummers.

  6. Take samples as directed by board operator for testing.

  7. Perform minor maintenance on equipment as required.

  8. Actively participate in plant Behavior Based Safety program.

  9. Report any HES incidents and, as appropriate, participate in incident investigations.


The Material Handler I works in a manufacturing environment with chemical, physical, ergonomic and electrical hazards. Work includes a variety of physical and biological conditions including, but not limited to, proximity to moving mechanical parts and powered industrial trucks, exposure to hot work or steam, working at heights, working with sharp tools and exposure to slip hazards and wet areas. This position requires shift work as the plant is operational 24/7. Both day and night shift will be rquired.
The successful candidate holds a high school diploma. 1-2 years manufacturing experience is preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
